The main aim of the Mankar College Museum is collection, preservation, and educational display of the social and cultural life of Bengal, especially of the Southern or Rahr Bengal.
It serves as an educative display of the selective social and cultural remains of the Bengali past and is aimed at preserving and providing significant information on Pre-Modern and Modern Bengal to students, teachers, and researchers.
Founded in 2021, the Museum was conceived as a repository of pre-modern and modern ethnographic and anthropological remains of Southern Bengal, which are fast depleting from public memory.
