Modes, Frequencies & Grievance Addressal
Overview & Guidelines
Internal assessment has been introduced to ensure continuous evaluation of learning and to provide immediate feedback to the learners, teachers, and other stakeholders. Mankar College, affiliated to the University of Burdwan, follows the guidelines of internal assessment notified by the university.
Assessment Components
- C1 (Component 1): Arranged during the first two months of each semester.
- C2 (Component 2): Arranged within the next two months of the first component.
- C3 (Component 3): Consists of students’ attendance.
Modes of Assessment
The college has an Internal Assessment Committee that oversees the procedure. Apart from standard class tests, departments have introduced innovative modes to involve students in a participatory teaching-learning atmosphere.
Grievance Addressal
Mankar College maintains a fair, impartial, and transparent Internal Assessment system. The Internal Assessment Committee has an existing mechanism dealing with the grievance of the students if there is any.
Procedure for Redressal
Lodge Complaint
Students can lodge their complaints to the Principal. The Principal will arrange a meeting with the Internal Assessment Committee and HODs.
Review & Action
If the grievance is justified, the department will initiate needful steps, review scripts, and if needed, arrange a re-examination within seven days.
Resolution
If unjustified, the Head will meet the complainant and mentor to explain the inappropriateness, rectify mistakes, and settle the matter.
